What we do and where
Fairway to Ride was set up by a golf club professional and one of the clubs members who are both passionate about helping others.
We work in Gedling a Borough in Nottinghamshire. Though a fairly new Borough, created in 1974, it is diverse with areas of council housing alongside those of affluence and rural villages within easy reach of urban areas.
It is our ambition to work to the betterment of those who are excluded and do not have the opportunity to participate in society. In conjunction with this we endeavour to support education and promote participation in sports – specifically golf.

what we have done so far
Gedling Borough
In 2017, we donated £1,000 towards organised trips for families in Newstead, Killisick and Netherfield with least one child under 5 years of age and registered with Sure Start – so that they are local residents.
In most cases this will be the only trip these children experience during the summer of 2017.
One Million in Fifty
Total raised: 1 million steps and 24hr Walk raised, in total, £4,708 with £2,354 of the total going to FareShare Midlands, providing 9,416 meals for men, women and children living in poverty.
24 Hour Walkathon
Jon Newham, Cameron Steedman & Bally Hayer successfully completed the walk from Mapperley Golf Club to Rufford Golf Club and back to Mapperley within the 24 hours they set as a target.
The endeavor was undertaken with the help of James Thompson, PGA Professional & Director of Golf at Rufford Park Golf & Country Club, and the members of Mapperley Golf Club.
